Coventry is a pledged grand county under the Kingdom of Aranor, a rugged kingdom that promotes its people to find their own way and recognizes ability, but is also filled with the spirit of uniting for the common good so that a great nation may rise. The Kingdom of Aranor currently has no formal relations with other kingdoms but is open to forming alliances and partnerships. For those who wish to bring diplomatic issues before the kingdom's council, Count von Zoidberg is prepared to make introductions and bring issues to the council. Alternatively clicking on Aranor's coat of arms above will link to its forum post with discord link. Diplomatic issues can be brought before the High Emissary Countess Jynx.
As a county, Coventry will be open to visitors from all nations who are not engaged in active conflict with Aranor. Coventry remains loyal to Aranor, but will be open to partnerships with other kingdoms to co-operate around trade and other services such as education. Coventry seeks to be an open door for trade, travel, and knowledge to flow through Aranor and the world from its port and infrastructure.
Count von Zoidberg rules over the county continuing the pledge of the house to use knowledge to bring prosperity to the people. The tale of House von Zoidberg and its policy can be found here:
While the county will have a focus on building strong institutions and maintaining law and order, beyond that it will seek to provide opportunities for private citizens and groups to be successful in their enterprises and contribute to the development of the county as well as themselves. Strong institutions are needed to insure the safety of the population from harm and fraud which is important for properity and commerce, but overarching government control can also affect this. Therefore a balance between strong institutions and honoring private property and limiting undue tax burden will be sought.
